10/10/09 – Rotary Leadership
Institute – Frederick MD. This
is a series of three day-long
workshops in building leadership
skills. All three parts, plus a
Graduate course, are being
offered simultaneously on
October 10, 2009, in Frederick,
MD. The skills taught are
applicable to leadership
positions with volunteer-based
non-profit organizations, not
necessarily limited to Rotary
Clubs. The cost is $95 for a
one-day session, and the Club
would be happy to share the cost
with anyone who wants to
participate. More Information:
georgia@communicators.com, or
butlert@hood.edu, or call Tammy
Butler at 240-357-0132.
10/10/09 – Anyone feeling
creative? On 10 October 2009,
Rotarians worldwide will take
photos of club members in
action. The Rotarian magazine is
looking for a wide variety of
photographs that showcase all
aspects of Rotary life.
Get your club members together,
and get creative. Shoot photos
of Rotarians digging wells or
planting trees, raising funds to
eradicate polio or educate
children, building parks or
painting schools, or attending a
Rotary club meeting in a
familiar place or an unusual
location. The Rotarian is also
interested in photos of or by
Interactors, Rotaractors,
alumni, and other members of the
family of Rotary. Please e-mail
up to three high-resolution
photos to rotarian@rotary.org .
All photos must be taken on 10
October and submitted by 17
October. Be sure to specify
who's in the photo, what they're
doing, where they are, what time
the photo was taken, and who
took it.
