Club Meeting March 24
Fingerprints as Evidence
The Catonsville Sunrise Rotary
Club invites you to join us for
breakfast, and hear one of our
members, Baltimore County
Circuit Court Judge Susan Souder
address the topic, “Latent
Finger Print IDs – What They Are
and What They Aren’t. "
Doesn’t sound too riveting, does
it?
However, Judge Souder’s recent
ruling in a capital murder case,
in which she threw out
fingerprints that were being
used as the sole link between
the alleged perpetrator and the
crime, brought her into the
national spotlight. She was the
first judge in decades to rule
that fingerprinting was inexact
and subjective. Her ruling was
quite an event in the legal
community.
We meet every Wednesday morning
for breakfast, work on some
fundraising activities for local
charities, and usually invite a
local speaker of interest to
keep us informed about the
events and organizations that
shape our community. Breakfast
and program is $10 for visitors,
and free for first-time
visitors.
